Resilient Pottsville: new name, more resources, same community spirit!
To our volunteers:
Over the past few months we’ve been re‑examining our community‑led resiliency model so we’re better prepared for the next disaster. The recent cyclone and the 2022 floods have shown us that extreme weather isn’t a one‑off—it’s becoming a regular challenge.
What’s new this year?
A fresh name: Our program is now called Resilient Pottsville, aligning it with the other local resilience groups.
New role title: Street coordinators are now street champions (or ‘street champs’ for short).
Clearer messaging: We’ve streamlined the way you can explain the program to neighbours. See our new messaging here: https://www.togetherpottsville.org/resilient-pottsville.
Supporting you
We know that door knocking and signing up households isn’t easy, so next year we’ll equip you with:
A street champion handbook
A concise door‑knocking script
Printable flyers to leave at households
Help enlisting you with a door‑knocking buddy
New signage
We’ve also designed eye‑catching signs you can display at home:
A2 – perfect for lawns or fences
A3 / A4 – great for windows, fences or posts
Just tell us which size you’d like, and we’ll send one your way.
These are available now! Order here
Display signage to help you with household sign ups are available in A2, A3 and A4 (left to right).
Our goal
We aim to have most of Pottsville connected and an information hub ready for any future severe weather event. Please help us make this goal possible!
Thank you for your dedication. Let’s build a safer, more resilient Pottsville together!
